$125 headphones: Are They Worth it?

Have you recently purchased LEVO products? Are you considering it? Read my review BEFORE you buy! I have some important opinions and a unique experience with the brand that may help you with your purchase!

A while ago I was contacted by LEVO audio to fill out a sponsorship form, which I did. I was approved and super excited! My first sponsored post! Yay!

I ordered my products about two weeks later and received them in the mail, two weeks later.

The wait was long and with much anticipation. I am a huge lover of music and my earphones need to be bassy, loud, clear, and noise reducing. I was excited to give these babies a listen!

When I opened the box, I was let down a bit. There was no separation, no protection, no bubble wrap, no foam…nothing. Just the products and the box.

This is exactly how they came. I still had my hopes up and was excited for them so I tried them immediately. I tried the Active Headphones first, turned them on and set up the bluetooth (which didn’t work, with any of my devices honestly), then used the cord and finally got some sound. I was disappointed by this point. The sound isn’t awful but definitely not worth $125 either.

Now I don’t want this post to be a bashing post, because there are some good things about LEVO audio that I love.

The aesthetic is amazing, I love the colors, the look, the feel. It’s definitely got potential to be great and just as big as Beats by Dre. The headphones are a good fit and I have a big head, I didn’t have a problem wearing them at all. They fit comfortably around my ears and they are light. Not heavy at all.

But that’s where the loves end, unfortunately.

Onto the earbuds, as you can see in the pictures, they came opened and a little sporadic. I tried those next, and well. The cord came defective, or the sound quality was just that bad.

The headphones, I gave to my brother to see how he felt about them. His opinion is the same as mine. He was highly disappointed in the sound quality. Another thing I want to point out, the headphones snapped in half, yes. They broke within a week.

If you’re a fan of Beats by Dre, I wouldn’t recommend these. If you’re a fan of Skull Candy, I still wouldn’t recommend these. Honestly, the $10 earbuds I buy from Wal-Mart are 10x better than these and I’m really disappointed about that. Again, it could just be MY experience, seeing as mine came defective (haven’t been offered a refund yet) so that might be the only issue. If you have these earbuds and/or headphones and you have a different story, please share it because my experience just wasn’t the best and I do see a lot of potential for the brand!

  1. Haven’t tried a pair of headphones that are over $100. I was planning to buy a pair soon from Beats but after reading your article i think i will pass and stick to my old earbuds from Philips.

    1. Hi, Chris! I personally haven’t tried Beats for myself, other than in the stores. They sound good but they also don’t sound different from my $10 and $20 earphones. I’ve heard a lot of good and bad about Beats from friends who have them so I’ve been skeptical in paying for them myself. I like to stick to whats good for me so if your Philips earbuds still work great and you love them, definitely stick with them 🙂 Thanks for commenting!

  2. I just bought the dr dre wireless headphones and i found them to be really awesome. The sound very good and are cool looking.

Great review! and keep up the awesome work!

  3. Hey Briana,

I haven’t heard of this brand before, thanks to you, LEVO is now something to look into. Honestly, anything above $100 is too much. If for headphone first thing I look for is sound quality everything else is secondary.

Thank you for sharing your honest review 🙂

    1. No problem, Josh! Glad you found it helpful!!

  4. In my point of view, $80 is a big thing for a pair of headphones brand. By the way, if the quality is good then I should think about it. Because I prefer quality over rate. Thanks!

    1. Agreed! Quality is definitely over quantity. Thanks for reading and leaving your thoughts!

  5. Hi

The headphones looks nice , however, paying 125 bucks for unknown brand (to me at least) it may not be good idea at my honest opinion , headphones are actually mini speakers, as such to play music which is good sound at first priority, anything else is secondary

  6. I believe that 125 dollars for these headphones are worth yes, I have 2 pairs and I can say that they are very good.

  7. Thanks for sharing this post with us. I am little bit interested to get more information about Wireless Earbuds.I like to share my opinion on Wireless Earbuds. This will both hold there by way of a wire that results in every earbud or may be a part of a extra stable headphone like plastic piece that has earbuds at two terminal ends. There are additionally earphones which have a receiver in every earpiece. These are usually a bit massive, so far as earbuds go, as there must be room for the receiver components in every earpiece.
