Joining Style Collective was one of the best blogging decisions I’ve made by far. I recently had the honor of attending my first Style Collective meet up dinner at The Black Sheep with the Vegas Style Collective bloggers!
Style collective is a lifestyle and fashion bloggers best friend (that’s what I like to call it at least!) It’s geared to help like-minded bloggers inspire, support, and promote each other all while finding friends in the blog world and creating new memories, like having monthly Style Collective meet ups!!
I’ve been with Style Collective for a little over 2 months now. I saw it on a few huge blogs so I thought it was some secret society within the blog world that only bloggers with 50 thousand monthly views/visitors were a part of. Boy was I wrong! Before signing up, of course, I did my homework. I read reviews on it, found other small bloggers like myself to see if they were a part of the membership and if the $10 monthly price is even worth it.
I am happy to say everything was positive and I even contacted the customer chat support and asked if I should join now as, at the time, I didn’t have any fashion posts on my blog. Annie, founder of Style Collective, herself replied and encouraged me to join so I did!
It’s honestly the best decision I’ve made by far. For all the resources you get (for free!), the $10 monthly fee is so worth it! Every month, since I’ve been a member, I’ve gotten a full worksheet/planner that gives detailed points of what readers are going to be looking for in the next month, what styles are in, what blog post topics I should consider, and we even get multiple lists of updated hashtags to use on social media!
That’s literally the beginning with all the resources we have at our disposal. I’ve already been contacted by a brand from Style Collective and am currently working with them!
Okay, let’s get to the actual dinner now! LOL
Style Collective Meet Up
My blogger friend Melanie mentioned to me recently that she was Las Vegas’ regional leader for Style Collective. I was happy because I found it so hard to find other #ScSisters out here in Las Vegas! She mentioned it wasn’t many events that happened out here since it wasn’t a lot of us but a while later I received an invitation to The Las Vegas August Style Collective Meet Up, hosted at The Black Sheep! I was too excited and I maybe kind of screamed a bit when I saw the invitation. Looks like being a part of the Vegas Lifestyle Influencers is helping me be social again lol
Dinner at The Black Sheep
We met around 5 pm which was a perfect time as we were practically the only customers in the place! We took many pictures and had fun talking and getting to know each other. We missed one #SCSister so we waited a bit before ordering but once we did, we didn’t have to wait long for the food. In fact, our waiter, Shepard brought out almost all their appetizers, complimentary of the chef! We tasted the housemade pickles, Charred Peaches & Mesclun salad, Heirloom Tomato & Watermelon Salad, Fried Beef Crisps, Vietnamese Imperial Rolls, Crispy Mediterranean Octopus, and spicy chicken wings. Yes…that all came before the meals we actually ordered. I ordered the Lemongrass Jerk Chicken, along with Lindsay, and we were treated to their dessert, also complimentary of the chef! We were all surprised by how good the food was. Almost everything was mouth watering!
I say almost everything, because of the octopus. I was never a fan of it, and now I know for sure I never will be. I did try it. A very tiny piece. I only tried it because Tessa, hadn’t tried Octopus before and she gained the nerve to try it, so we decided we’d try it together. The curry sauce it came with was really good. Cool and rich but not overpowering or spicy (like I expected), and luckily I drenched the octopus in enough of the sauce that I barely tasted the actual meat ? The texture of the meat was what you would expect from an octopus, chewy. I won’t be eating octopus again. Though I might go with someone who does it eat just so I can enjoy the curry sauce!
For my drink, I ordered the Louisville Sweet Peach which featured bourbon and a fresh peach to top it off! It was a strong drink, but I drank it slow and ate so I wasn’t drunk or even tipsy. Honestly, words can’t describe how good this drink truly was. I didn’t even think I was a fan of bourbon but I am now thanks to this! You’ll honestly have to visit The Black Sheep and order this to get the full experience!
Also, it came in a tiny copper mug??? Kudos Black Sheep for the drink!
Of course, we had some great sponsors for the event and I’ve recently found a new beauty brand that I’m quickly falling in love with!
I’ve already tried the Patchology and Good Day Chocolate products. First off, let me say, I never knew chocolate could be a supplement and taste like M&Ms. The first one I tried was the calm supplement and it worked so well. Maybe a bit too well. I was having a very rough week before the dinner and these candies helped me relax and feel calm within an hour. Literally. They work.
The Patchology hydrogels were fabulous as well and I want to order more! They feel really good on my skin, under my eyes, and I didn’t experience any discomfort with them on. I left them on for about 10 minutes and they gave my under eyes a nice glow and they seemed more bright and the skin even felt tighter! #5StarRating
I wish I had pictures of what I wore that day, of what we all wore because honestly, we were so cute. We all managed to match even though half of us never met before (nor did we discuss outfits before the event). We wore pastels and ruffles. Honestly, we were a cute bunch. #GirlBoss
