I think I’ve found an answer. In January, I lost my grandmother to a 4-month battle with cancer, after losing a cousin to unknown reasons two weeks earlier, in December. It broke my spirit, changed my view of the world and myself, and gravely confused me. This was also my first time experiencing a death from close loved ones. The question that kept eating away at me was how do I get back to blogging after experiencing a loss?
I’ve been asking myself this question every day after my grandmothers funeral. And every time I ask myself this question, I can never find the answer. However! After almost 3 months of not even looking at my blog, I’ve decided it’s been long enough. I got into blogging not knowing anything, whereas now, I have knowledge of blogging so why was it so hard to get back to blogging after experiencing a loss??
The first steps
One of the best ways to get back on track is to plan. It took forever for me to revise my plans for my blog and I’m still not done, so there will be mishaps along the way. However, I did plan weekly content again and this time, it’s possible to be followed through without the use of money, which I let be an excuse of “I can’t do this!” No more.
There are literally no more excuses for me unless, God forbid, my computers break and I have no way of writing and posting! Now, the content isn’t planned in detail, yet, but it does give me a very wide and clear look at what I need to plan for the month.
Mattie James‘ podcast Why Planning Isn’t Enough gave me the push I was looking for. Her words inspired me, uplifted me, and reminded me that I have a purpose with my blog. Most importantly, her words encouraged me to keep fighting for this.
What “this” is, is my creative outlet and my way of giving back. It’s my way of helping others. So I want to know, what do you want to see at Laqing In Creativity? Leave your comments below or send me an email at [email protected] and let me know.
