How to wear a sweater for New Year’s Eve

On New Year’s Eve, you would expect dresses to be the most worn item. While it’s true for the parties inside the clubs, the biggest party is right outside on Las Vegas BLVD. Every year I notice women are bundled up in sweaters and coats. Why? Because it gets really damn cold out here! So I thought it would be a fun idea to show you how you could rock a sweater for New Year’s Eve!

If your New Year's Eve part is outside, like Las Vegas's biggest NYE party is, then you need a warm stylish sweater for New Years Eve partying. Check out the blog post to see how to wear one!

Partying on the Las Vegas strip for New Year’s Eve means road shutdown. This shutdown can last from 8pm (sometimes earlier) until 4am. In short, you don’t have road access to and from Las Vegas BLVD during these hours. Because of this, most people, including Vegas natives, book hotel rooms months in advance to make sure they have a place to go once the party ends.

I’ve never actually been on The Strip for New Year’s Eve. However, I do know that Las Vegas winters can get pretty cold! If I ever do bring in the New Year on The Strip, I will be wearing a sweater, pants, and a warm coat! We’re going for stylish and comfortable here. Not cute and freezing our butts off!

How to wear a sweater for New Year’s Eve

It was sunny this day but the weather was so cold! I’m glad I wore this sweater, it kept me nice and warm!
In love with the neck and hem detail.
Sweater paws are possible with this sweater! Extra cuteness and warmth.
I love the neckline on this. It’s not too low so I don’t feel self-conscious with a lot of cleavage showing. Skin still shows though!

This shimmer v-neck sweater from Ann Taylor was so fun to style! Paired with my black stockings, black booties and a navy blue skirt, I felt like I was ready to party!  Sweaters are one of my favorite clothing items because they can be worn dressy or casual and with the right fit, never go out of style!

That’s what I love about Ann Taylor‘s sweaters. The quality and wear, so far, is amazing and they have the cutest sophisticated clothing items.

Candles, necklaces (like the one I’m wearing), and even other accessories like scarves and sunglasses are available at Ann Taylor as well. Have fun exploring the site! I recently bought one of their candles as a gift from my Holiday Gift Guide and I wish I had bought two and kept one for myself LOL.

Below, I have some more cute options for you to rock a sweater for New Year’s Eve. I included some coats for the cold and a cute pair of loafers because you’ll be on your feet 90% of the time!
