Last year my family and I were homeless for July 4th. My dad had just got his SSI and we bought some barbecue to celebrate the fact that we were still together as a family. I remember the day before we had an argument about something we were facing on top of our homelessness. We spent the day at the Desert Breeze Park which was one of our homes during the time we were homeless.
We met other families that were barbecuing and my brother played his music for a few of them, they loved his music and I was so proud.

Though I was going through depression and suicidal thoughts during this day(and that whole experience), this moment my family and I were good so I wanted to capture it as a memory. Regardless of the dark place I was in, somehow I knew that I would look back on this day and realize that it was necessary for my growth, for my family’s growth.

Now I’m living and teaching in South Korea, my family has income and a home of their own, we’re all paying our bills on time and saving money while working for a comfortable life where finances aren’t our main concern anymore. Surely, we are accomplishing that 😌
I can only give praise to God for bringing us to this point.
